We are excited to announce the release of Monkeybird´s latest screen print edition "La Révélation". The edition was hand-printed in five layers on Magnani 1441 cotton paper in our screen-printing studio.
The French artist duo moves along the line between dream and reality. Their works, rich with symbols and allegories, explore the idea of human progress—sometimes emotionally, sometimes rationally. Most of Monkeybird’s pieces feature a monkey and a bird, representing the two faces of humanity: the monkey as the realist, the bird as the dreamer.

Stencil art has always been rooted in protest. The technique didn’t emerge from studios, but from the streets — as a weapon of words and images in times when speaking out was dangerous. In the 1960s and ’70s, activists and artists used stencils to spread political messages quickly and effectively: against war, for freedom, for equality. The walls became the people’s newspapers, and the spray can their printing press of resistance.
In the 1980s, stencil art gained new meaning through artists like Blek le Rat in Paris and later Banksy in London. Their work showed that protest doesn’t always have to shout — it can also whisper, using humor, irony, and aesthetics as its tools.
The Art of Protest continues this tradition through the works of FAKE and L.E.T. Both artists use stencils to question power, challenge conformity, and provoke thought. Their imagery is bold, layered, and inevitably political — a reminder that true art still dares to disturb.
The stencil remains what it has always been: the voice of those who demand to be heard.

Skio began his journey in graffiti in 1993 on the French Riviera. After starting with vandal lettering he moverd on exploring more figurative and romantic realms. After studying graphic design in Manchester and object design at the European Institute of Design in Toulon, he developed a distinctive visual language that fuses geometry, realism, and symbolic explorations of the gaze
Influenced by Bauhaus and surrealism, SKIO constructs a refined and sensitive aesthetic, where each piece questions our presence in urban space. His paintings combine anatomical fragments, stylized architecture, and contemporary textures – suspended between abstraction and figuration.
Mastering spray paint, brushes, digital tools, and marquetry, Skio works across murals, canvases, and installations. Since twenty years, his works have been exhibited internationally — in cities like Paris, New York, Mexico City, Sarajevo, Düsseldorf and Mumbai.

Inspired by the legacy of Bauhaus and reinterpreted through a contemporary lens, his compositions merge softness with structure, intimacy with architectural rigor.
In his works, faces and bodies are partially revealed or deliberately fragmented, dissolving into stylized forms. The absence of gaze invites the viewer to project their own, raising questions about visibility, identity, and the individual’s place in a hyperconnected and increasingly anonymous world.
Through a surreal yet precise aesthetic, SKIO reflects on how we navigate the modern city – not only physically, but emotionally and spiritually. The exhibition is both a visual and poetic investigation into presence and erasure, exposure and retreat.
