As a short intermezzo, we present a photography exhibition by American photographer Sheila Rock, who is visiting Düsseldorf for the Electri_City Conference. She is best known for her portraits of musicians such as Debbie Harry (Blondie), The Clash, Visage and Billy Idol. The exhibition is on view from 24 October to 2 November.
About the Photographer
Sheila Rock was born in the United States and moved to London in 1970. Her career as a photographer began in 1980 with THE FACE magazine. She exhibits regularly in London and internationally. Her portrait work spans a wide range of stars from music and entertainment, and her photographs have appeared in publications from Vogue to The Sunday Times. Her work is also held in the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery in London.
Sheila Rock was married to the late photographer Mick Rock (who died in 2021), renowned for his images of David Bowie, Lou Reed, Queen and Syd Barrett.
